But the question is -- do you google a guy BEFORE you date him?
Only once have I chosen not to google -- and that was b/c I wanted to find out about a guy's family, but thought it was an invasion of privacy to google his family members, since he stayed mum about them. But other than that, GOOGLE ON!
5 STEPS to being a Good Googler:
1. Make sure to google his first and last name IN QUOTES -- this searches for the person's name together, rather than searching for the first name separately and then the last name separately. Very important.
2. Try to find out a piece of info on the guy that will help google find him, such as the name of his hometown, high school, family member, college, company, or anything interesting/unique about him. Add that to the google search OUTSIDE of his name in quotes.
3. If you don't have an interesting piece of info, google his name in quotes and "photo" together to see if you can find at least a photo of him. Sometimes a blind date means you gotta be blind to date him!
4. If nothing comes up when you google his name in quotes, take the quotes off and then just add an interesting fact/characteristic. If you don't have a fact/characteristic, try looking his name up in the peoplesearch directory that usually comes up on the right hand side in the sponsored links section -- you can at least find his home location and possibly family member names -- you do this to see if he has crazy family member names such as Tequila, Alize, Chiquita Banana, and otherwise run in the family (you may wanna know this before you go out!)
5. If you can't find a THING...then either the brotha has a clean record OR his butt is just that damn deceptive that even GOOGLE can't touch him! Either way, he's free and clear...and you've done your due diligence to check him for psycho, crazy family, criminal record, or otherwise. So, go ahead and give him a shot!
